Tiny Terrariums
5:00 pm
435 Hamill Road, Indiana PA 15701
Friday, May 22, 2026
Join the Indiana County Conservation District for a hands-on, family-friendly program where participants will build their own closed terrarium and explore the basics of ecosystems! During this interactive session, participants will learn how living and nonliving components, such as plants, soil, water, and air, work together to create a balanced ecosystem. As we assemble our terrariums, we’ll discuss concepts like the water cycle, energy flow, and how ecosystems can recycle resources within a closed system. Each participant will take home their completed terrarium to observe how it continues to change over time. This program is designed for ages 5 and up and encourages curiosity, creativity, and environmental learning through hands-on exploration. All materials will be provided, but space is limited to 15 participants due to material availability. This activity is ideal for children, families, and anyone interested in learning more about ecosystems in a fun and accessible way. Parents/guardians must accompany their children.
